Chapter 7

I can’t fault her for her thinking, she didn’t see it so she thought all was fine. But there is no way he’s getting away with fucking with my blood.

The kid has no reason to lie to me and like I said, I choose to believe him. Some of the shit he’d had to say only left me with more questions about this Roy fuck.

I didn’t tell her what my son said the old fuck had said to him behind her back, but I was finally ready to hear more about their time together. I needed to know if there was any truth to where my mind was going.

“Tell me about this guy. How did he get you to move in with him?” There were too many things that weren’t adding up for me anymore.

First, telling her to abort my kid, abusing my kid and having a woman in his home he couldn’t fuck. Something was way off. And what she said didn’t clear any of that shit up for me.

“Honestly, he’s been trying to get me to marry him since a month or so after you were arrested. I never had any interest in him and told him so.”

She stopped talking so I looked at her to carry on. “Months would go by and he wouldn’t bring it up again, but then he’d start up again. He said he knew I was still in love with you and he just wanted to help.”

“He…” She broke off when her phone rang in the other room. “Be right back.” I heard her answer from the other room as she came back towards me.

“Junior calm down I can’t understand what you’re saying.” My head came up and I stared at her. Why would the kid be calling? I’d just left him at the school.

I was already getting to my feet as my gut went into overdrive. “What? Put the teacher on.” I was heading for the door with her hot on my heels, phone to her ear.

What I gathered from her end was that the asshole had gone to the school to try to check my kid out. His name wasn’t on the list of people allowed and the school had thoughtfully kept my son from leaving.

I hopped on my ride with her on the back not giving any thought to how I was going to get both of them back here. For now my first priority was getting to my kid and bringing him back to safety.

At the school I thanked the principal and teacher who’d used their heads and got my name added to the list then and there while his mother checked him over and did the motherly thing.

I signed him out for the day, and squeezed him in between the two of us on the bike and rode slowly back to the apartment. My kid was still shaking.

Once upstairs I had him tell me again what had happened. The asshole had shown up at the school claiming to be his father and tried signing him out.
